WCS Arrival and Dismissal

Williston Central School ARRIVAL Summary

  • 7:30 Early Arrivals (only if a necessity please)
  • 3rd/4th Grade: Wait in Front Lobby Near the West Entrance
  • 5th-8th Grade: Wait in Cafeteria or Front Lobby Near Main Entrance

7:45 BUS ARRIVAL AND UNLOADING - students go directly to their classrooms

7:40-7:55 Drop Off Locations

Student Drop-off, Walkers and Bikers - students remain in designated drop-off locations until 7:45 am

  • 3rd/4th students: West Side Entrance, just past tennis courts
  • Spruce, Willow, Tamarack: After-Hours Entrance, near cafeteria 
  • Oak, Maple, Cedar: Town Rec Fields Parking Lot (near playground)

7:55 am School Day Officially Begins

8:00 Advisory/Morning Meetings Begin

Student Drop Off Safety Reminders:

  • Drive attentively, slowly and safely
  • Follow the directions of school staff
  • Yield to school buses entering or exiting
  • Use blinker & pull up parallel to curb
  • Students must exit the curb side of the vehicle

Williston Central School DISMISSAL Summary

Please plan for all early pickups to happen before 2pm (1pm on Wednesdays).  Pickups between 2:00pm(1pm on Wednesdays) and dismissal create confusion and disruptions in planning for the end of the day for students, staff, and transportation causing potential safety and accountabily concerns.  We ask that you please plan accordingly when picking your student up early.

2:35-2:45 3rd/4th Dismissal (Weds: 1:35-1:45)
Pick-up Locations:

Equinox: Front driveway near theater entrance
Mosaic: West Side of building (just past tennis courts)
Kaleidoscope: West side of building near after-hours entrance

2:40 5th-8th Bus Dismissal (Weds: 1:35-1:45)
2:45: Bus Departure

2:45 Parent Pick-up (Weds: 1:35-1:45)
