ABS Arrival and Dismissal

ABS Morning Arrival

School Begins at 7:50

Bus Arrival and Unloading - 7:35 am
Parent Drop-Off - 7:25 am - 7:50 am

  • Students will all enter through the main entrance.
  • Parents dropping off should use the drop off lane and remain in the car OR park in the parking lot if you will be walking your child to the door.
  • Please say goodbye to your child outside the building. This provides for a smoother transition in the morning and helps students build independence in getting to their classrooms and starting their day.
  • Students arriving before 7:35 will be directed to wait in the cafeteria.
  • School begins at 7:50.  Students arriving after 7:50 will be directed to check in at the front office and collect a pass

Notes & Reminders for Student Drop-Off:

  • Walking, Biking to school is encouraged - It is recommended that ABS Parents accompany their children
  • Please arrive at the appropriate time for arrival as indicated above
  • Please drive attentively, slowly, and safely, following directions of school staff
  • For safety, all students should exit the passenger side of the vehicle if possible

Afternoon Dismissal

Bus Loading & Departure - 2:25 - 2:35 pm (Wednesday, 1:25 - 1:35)
Parent Pick-Up - 2:30 - 2:40 pm (Wednesday, 1:30 - 1:40)

  • In order to avoid being caught up in dismissal traffic and being delayed, we recommend all early pickups happen before 2:15pm (1:15pm on Wednesdays)
  • All students will exit the building with their class and supervising adult and will then proceed to the student pick-up location.
  • Parents should park their vehicles in the parking lot and collect their children from the team’s pick-up area.  There is NO drive-up curbside pickup.  Please do not block parked cars or park along curbs. Siblings may wait together in the location for the youngest student.  (Kindergarten - grassy area surrounding the flagpole.  Grades 1 & 2 - Front lawn by the sidewalk.)  
  • Students not picked up by 2:40 (Weds, 1:40) will be waiting in the main office. 
  • Please DO NOT exit the parking lot while the buses are leaving.  This will cause a delay in our buses getting over to WCS. Please wait until the last bus has exited the parking lot.

  • Please drive attentively, slowly, and safely, following directions of school staff
  • For safety, please have your student walk with you to your car
  • If you arrive after 2:40 (Wednesday, 1:40), please park your car, walk to the front doors and buzz to have your child dismissed
